Aussie severe rock music jazz banding Rose Tattoo was formed in Sydney in 1976 by ex-Buffalo guitarist Peter Wells; with the additions of early Buster Brown singer Angry Anderson, guitar player Mick Cocks, bassist Ian Rilen and drummer Dallas "Power shovel" Royal, the group made their populace bow on New Year's Eve at the local club Chequers, which various years earlier launched the career of AC/DC. Chiefly divine by the Rolling Stones and the Faces, Rose Tattoo's ferocious, thundery profound chop-chop earned a devoted following among Sydney area pubgoers, and in 1978 the chemical mathematical group signed to Albert Productions; their debut single "Regretful Boy for Love" was written by Rilen, worldly concern Health Organization left hand the batting order prior to the record's passing. Anderson's erstwhile Buster Brown bassist Geordie Leech was recruited for Rose Tattoo's self-titled debut LP; after nearly triplet age of unrelenting touring, they issued the review, Assault and Battery, in 1981.

After a turn of Europe which saw them hailed as the loudest band to play London's Marquee Club since Led Zeppelin, Rose Tattoo returned to Australia to begin work on their third album; with new guitarist Robin Riley replacement Cocks, they issued Scarred for Life in 1982, later touring the U.S. in support of Aerosmith and ZZ Top. However, o'er the course of 1983 Wells, Royal and Riley all left field the chemical group, with the odd duo of Anderson and Leach recruiting guitarists Greg Jordan and John Meyer along with drummer Scott Johnston to record 1984's Southern Stars. Leach then exited to join Wells, Royal and Riley in the passing Illustrated Men; Anderson and Johnston continued on as Rose Tattoo, enlisting guitarist Tim Gaze and bassist Andy Cichon for 1986's Beats from a Single Drum. Anderson lastly mounted a solo life history soon after, as did Wells. After years of substance abuse, Royal died in 1991.

At the request of longtime fans Guns N' Roses, Anderson, Wells, Cocks, Leach and new drummer Paul DeMarco reformed Rose Tattoo in 1993 to open for the Gunners on their Australian hitch; the reunion proven brief, however, and upon completing the go each penis returned to his solo endeavors. The same batting order, with original bassist Ian Rilen replacing Leach, reformed even once again in 1998 for the "All Hell Breaks Loose!!" hitch; by the following year, Leach had returned to the fold once more. Fall 2000 saw the release of 25 to Life.

Lowell Fulson recorded every shade of megrims conceivable. Polished urban blues, unsophisticated two-guitar duets with his younger brother Martin, funk-tinged grooves that pierced the mid-'60s charts, even an unwise cover of the Beatles' "Why Don't We Do It in the Road!" Clearly, the old-timer guitar player, wHO was active for more than than half a century, wasn't afraid to experiment. Perhaps that's why his last duet of discs for Rounder were so critical and satisfying -- and why he remained an pioneer for so tenacious.

Exposed to the western dangle of Bob Wills as well as autochthonic blue devils spell ontogenesis up in Oklahoma, Fulson joined up with vocalist Texas Alexander for a few months in 1940, touring the Lone Star state of matter with the veteran soldier bluesman. Fulson was drafted in 1943. The Navy permit him go in 1945; afterward a few months back in Oklahoma, he was off to Oakland, CA, where he made his number one 78s for fledgeling producer Bob Geddins. Soon enough, Fulson was fronting his own banding and slip a stack of platters for Big Town, Gilt Edge, Trilon, and Down Town (where he hit big in 1948 with " O'Clock Blues," later covered by B.B. King).

Swing Time records president Jack Lauderdale snapped up Fulson in 1948, and the hits truly began to Day I Have the Blues" (an version of Memphis Slim's "Cypher Loves Me"), "Blue Shadows," the two-sided holiday perennial "Lonesome Christmas," and a swagger mid-tempo instrumental "Low-pitched Society Blues" that really hammers home how staggeringly important piano player Lloyd Glenn and alto saxist Earl Brown were to Fulson's maturing sound (all charted in 1950!).

Fulson toured extensively from then on, his stripe stocked with for a prison term with dazzling piano player Ray Charles (wHO later covered Lowell's "Sinner's Prayer" for Atlantic) and saxist Stanley Turrentine. After a one-off session in New Orleans in 1953 for Aladdin, Fulson inked a longterm pact with Chess in 1954. His first single for the Baby," cut in Dallas under Stan Lewis's supervising with a adolphe Sax section that included David "Twat" Newman on strain and Leroy Cooper on barytone.

The unrelenting mid-tempo blues proven a monumental strike and perennial cover particular -- regular Elvis Presley cut it in 1960, right later on he got out of the Army. But apart from "Loving You," the guitarist's subsequent Checker outturn failed to find widespread party favour with the Baffling, since Fulson's crisp, concise guitar work and inflexible vocals were as effective as of all time. Most of his Checker roger Sessions were held in Chicago and L.A. (the latter his menage from the turn of the '50s).

Fulson stayed with Checker into 1962, simply a change of labels worked wonders when he jumped over to Los Angeles-based Kent Records. 1965's driving "Smuggled Nights" became his first smash in a decennium, and " Fulson and Jimmy McCracklin, did regular better, restoring the guitar player to R&B stardom, gaining plentitude of come out spins, and inspiring a playful Stax cover by Otis Redding and Carla Thomas only a few months later that outsold Fulson's original.

A yoke of lesser review hits for Kent ensued earlier the guitarist was reunited with Stan Lewis at Jewel Records. That's where he took a crack at that Beatles number, though about of his outings for the firm were substantially finisher to the blues bone. Fulson was never been abstracted for long on disc; 1992's Hold On and its 1995 follow-up Them Update Blues, both for Ron Levy's Bullseye Blues logo, were among his later efforts, both quite solid. Fulson continued to perform until 1997, when health problems forced the life history bluesman into a reluctant retreat. His health continued to deteriorate and on March 6, 1999 - barely a few weeks shy of his 78th natal day - Lowell Fulson passed away.

Few bluesmen managed to remain contemporary the way Lowell Fulson did for more than five-spot decades. And fewer placid will make such a massive contribution to the dialect.

Billy Idol backs hits album with roadwork

Veteran pop-punk rocker Billy Idol [ tickets ] will hit the pavement later this month to tackle a busy summer tour schedule that supports his soon-to-be-released hits compilation, "The Very Best of Billy Idol: Idolize Yourself."The blond-maned singer kicks things off June 22 in San Diego and plans to knock off a full slate of North American headlining dates in June and July before tackling a run on the European festival circuit. After that, it's back to North America for an August stint opening for Def Leppard, as well as additional headlining performances in August and September.Details for the North American dates are included below, and Idol's European tour schedule is available at his MySpace page.Due in stores June 24, "Idolize Yourself" is a career-spanning set featuring 18 tracks, including a pair of newly recorded songs titled "New Future Weapon" and "John Wayne.""When I'm singing ['John Wayne'], I'm thinking about the characters John Wayne played," Idol said in a press release. "They were usually men with a flaw in their character or something dark in their past they're trying to rise above before the end of the movie. So it's not about the kick-in-the-door John Wayne or the barroom fight John Wayne--it's more the man who overcomes." Of the collection's other new track, "New Future Weapon," Idol added, "I was reading about the new stealth fighter plane the Raptor, and I was struck by the ambivalence of the pilot talking about the enemy. Musically, it's got a bit of the Spaghetti Western about it. It's a sick song, as you might expect."Idol will mark the release of "Idolize Yourself" with a June 24 appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," during which he'll perform several songs on the show's outdoor stage.

Anne Heche To Pay $275,000 To Ex-Husband

Actress Anne Heche has reached a settlement in her divorce from Coley Laffoon, agreeing to pay her ex-husband a $US275,000 lump sum and almost $US4,000 per month in child support for their son, according to court papers.

The agreement marks a sharp reduction in the monthly support payment of $US15,000 the 'Men in Trees' actress had been paying her ex, which she said she could no longer afford because she is currently out of work.

"I am continuing to look for work, but I have no offers pending and the impending strike by the Screen Actors Guild reduces my prospects for work even further," Heche, 38, wrote in court papers last month.

"Since January 18, 2008, I have been unemployed and had no income from employment except for one very short-term contract for a movie role for which I received a total of $65,000, approximately the amount I received for one episode of 'Men in Trees'."

She added, "I do receive some residuals from previous acting work. However, the amounts are nominal and are offset by recurring business expenses that must be paid whether or not I am working."

Under the settlement, Heche, 38, also will pay 75% of six year old son Homer's private school tuition, and 50% of "agreed-upon extracurricular activities" for the child, according to L.A. Superior Court papers.

Laffoon, 34, filed for divorce in February 2007, and the split became nasty when Heche accused her ex-husband of being a deadbeat who watches porn and frequents strip clubs, while Laffoon claimed Heche was mentally unstable.
